I could honestly care less about Chick-Fil-A’s CEO’s opinion on gay marriage. Though I strongly disagree, I respect his belief. I have the choice not to spend money there if it goes to organizations I don’t support.
The only thing that really bothers me is the amount of hatred that has boiled up in my community about this. Go ahead and show your appreciation for Chick-Fil-A, it’s just food. Or don’t, that’s fine too.
But when people bash “the other side”, it says more about themselves and their integrity than anything else. What happened to “love thy neighbor” and “no discrimination”? It seems to me this argument and personal attacks from anyone involved are unnecessary and hateful. Live and let live because you don’t have the power to change another person’s beliefs. If they were so easily influenced, what would be the value of beliefs at all?
